Why booking?
The booking of campaigns on channels and placements enables ultimately to assign multiple campaigns of advertising space. If a channel posted the ad server transmits this book automatically to the existing in this channel websites and of these to the corresponding advertising space. Now, a website visited by a visitor and the placement displayed, the ad server, which campaigns are specially booked on this advertising space or on a channel that owns the website either looks. the ad server selects the campaigns booked by different criteria then a campaign, and displays them. This ultimately causes the publisher must not for every campaign and every promotional material specially modify the code of the website, but only once incorporates a code and the code then decides what he wants to view.
How to book?
The book is of particular importance, since the relationship between campaigns and advertising space is done and therefore the control of the advertising delivery is made.
Basically there are four ways to make a booking:
- Booking channel
- Booking by website
- Booking by campaign
- Instantly (Code-Center)
- 1: 1 mapping for advertising space and advertising material (no rotation !!!)
- fixe campaign book as a rotation code for appropriate advertising media campaign
In normal business marketers the first three variants are used, as well as its opposite: exclusion by channel, advertising space or campaign. Direct booking is always interesting when only a single campaign or just a single advertising medium is to be passed on to another marketer instead of the normal rotation and that the ads can control individually to.
1. Booking channel
Most bookings are usually made by channel. In our article: Creating: Publishers, Websites, Placement, Channel we dealt with the creation of channels. In the middle section you will find the list of channels created and on the right - as soon as a channel has been selected - the campaigns or exclusions booked for the channel. The campaigns are sorted according to priority, order and proportion in descending order, i.e. just as they would be displayed to a visitor.
So in general, all public channels, which are also regularly offered to customers - A special role is played here by the Channel "RON" (run over Network, Entire Network), this sums up all the channels that are set to be "too RON duly" ,
2. Booking Website
While several websites with a campaign may be the same be occupied when booking channel, is the booking ad space, so to speak the exact opposite: Allows you to add all selected individual advertising space to a campaign or exclude.
Please note that advertising space that are not posted or covered with a cut, do not appear in the list. For this but still any existing channel reservation or excluded under Channel is considered natural. (For details on overlap, see below)
3. Booking by campaign
The booking campaign is essentially the reverse of the previous two journals. Here is not assigned to a channel / Advertising campaign, but it is the campaign assigned a channel or advertising space. The final product has the same picture - but just in a different way.
The booking by campaign you will also find within the campaign management in the middle list. Here you will find every line information on whether the campaign "busy" or "unbooked" is. Clicking on this link will take you to each of the entries of this campaign and can make bookings directly without further change here about after creating a campaign.
4. Instantly (Code Center)
If an other marketers or web page to deliver a campaign and the ads themselves can directly control, then either for direct booking. You do this in the administration area, select "Code Center". This makes it possible to establish a direct association with an advertising medium for any advertising space and to generate different types of codes that can then be passed on to the marketer or website.
Codes that can be generated during the 1:1 assignment (placement:creative):
