Why should I check my ad media for asynchronous capability?
To deliver ads on asynchronous requests, the setting "Asynchronous creative" must be set on the ad media, similar to HTTPS/SSL. The options "Yes" and "Yes, via iFrame" are available here.
Ad media that cannot be loaded asynchronously are e.g. ad media that contain a "document.write" in their code. The problem here is that the ad media cannot be loaded.
Wow do I get to the test?
- Select the creative to be checked
- As soon as the creative is opened in the editing view, please click on [Show in new window].
- In the newly opened window the creative is now displayed and at the top right there is a small yellow window, in which a check mark can be placed to test for compatibility with the asynchronous delivery.
Test
After the check mark is set there are two possibilities how the display behaves:
A) the creative is still displayed and is asynchronous capable - the setting in the ad medium can now be set to "Yes".
B) the ad media is no longer displayed. This ad media is not asynchronous capable and can only be played on asynchronous requests with the setting: "Yes, via iFrame".
Image formats like .png, .jpg ... and also physical video files, which you have uploaded to your AdServer, are asynchronous capable and can be marked with "Yes". Please note that if you add additional code, this compatibility may be removed. For your safety, you should check the ad media again after you have inserted the code and saved it.
