What is GDPR targeting used for?
With the implementation of GDPR, you may only want to run your campaigns if the user has consented to the processing of their personal data. It may also be that your advertiser expects this consent from you. In this case, GDPR targeting is often used to ensure that the user has also consented to one or more vendors at the time the campaign is run.
What are the options for the settings?
First field: there is (any) general consent.
Second field: consent is required for the selected purposes
Third field: Consent is required for the selected vendors
These three settings can be used alone or in combination. In practice, selecting the desired provider has proven to be the most effective. If you are unsure about how to set your preferences, please contact your privacy officer.
Example:
You have received HTML code from one of your advertisers that specifies the vendor Google Advertising Products (IAB vendor ID 755). If we want our campaign to show only when this vendor has been approved by a CMP, you can use GDPR targeting.
