Keyword targeting describes the advertising approach of users at the time of their occupation with a desired topic. In order to map this targeting with your ad server, this information must be transferred to the placement.
Publisher Seite:
- Optional -> Activate referrer check if the parameters are to be displayed in reporting.
- To use keyword targeting, the parameter &search= is appended to an AdSpirit URL and the words are passed. Optionally, it is also possible to use your own parameter here, this parameter must then also be used when setting up the targeting.
- Append all data in UTF-8
- Separate words by comma and without spaces
- The string with the keywords that is passed to the advertising space must be UTF8 and encoded according to URL!
- Your ad server converts everything to lowercase. So the best practice is to lowercase both targeting words and words passed to the parameter.
- We recommend not to use umlauts, even if we support them
Example:
Angehangen werden die Keywords: auto,fiat,rot,gelb,blau,multicolor
<ins class="asm_async_creative" style="display:inline-block; width:728px; height:90px;text-align:left; text-decoration:none;" data-asm-cdn="cdn.adspirit.de" data-asm-host="ihradserver.adspirit.de" data-asm-params="pid=1&gdpr_consent=[consentstring]&search=auto%2Cfiat%2Crot%2Cgelb%2Cblau%2Cmulticolor"></ins><script src="//cdn.adspirit.de/adasync.min.js" async type="text/javascript"></script>
In the report, the area can be viewed via the selection: Placement -> "Show SubIDs" to view the SubID column in the report. Here you will find the numbers for the corresponding calls.
For this result in the report, &search=auto%2Cfiat%2Crot%2Cyellow%2Cblue%2Cmulticolor and &search=sommer were added to the advertising spaces for different calls in each case.
Advertiser page:
- For the use of keyword targeting is AND/OR possible.
- You can store keywords up to 1mb.
- In your AdServer please enter the keywords separated by spaces into the appropriate fields.
Something must always be included first so that I can exclude something. The exclusion always refers to the inclusion!
Campaign/Creative Settings
- Set keyword targeting to "Yes
- Click [Configure Targeting]
- Window for configuration opens, here you enter the desired parameter. The parameter provided by AdSpirit is "search". Optionally, you can also use your own parameter, provided this has been implemented accordingly for the placement.
- Save
- In order to apply the entry, the campaign/creative to which the setting was made must also be saved.
Note:
If KeywordTargeting is used with the parameter "search", reading out the referrers is no longer possible. Because the AdServer uses the same table and stores only one value.
Setting/combination options
Here we take the example of the advertising space the
Keywords: auto,fiat,rot,gelb,blau,multicolor be handed over.
Exact matching keywords
Here your adserver looks at the word string, where parts of the exact structure (order/spelling) are also possible.
Exact match keywords are keywords that must exactly match the search. Words as well as word order and arrangement must match. Here, your ad server looks at the word string, although parts of the exact structure (order/spelling) are also possible.
Example:
- auto fiat rot gelb blau multicolor
- fiat rot
- blau
Wide matching keywords
Here your ad server looks at the word cloud of the passed keywords. The order is not relevant here, the spelling is to be followed exactly here as well.
Broadly matching keywords are keywords that must roughly match. Included words must match, but the word order and arrangement do not matter.
Example:
- rot blau fiat auto
- multicolor fiat
Excluding keywords
Here your adserver looks at the word string, where parts of the exact structure (order/spelling) are also possible.
Excluding keywords are keywords that must not be present in the search text. The hit behavior corresponds to the inversion of the exact match keywords.
Example:
- auto fiat rot gelb blau
- fiat rot
- blau
Exclusive keyword
Exclusive keywords are keywords that must match the search exactly. If exclusive keywords are defined, at least one of the exclusive keywords AND at least one of the exactly matching or most matching keywords must match.
Example:
genau passend: rot gelb blau
exklusives Keyword: multicolor
